Deen TV channel 152 on Openview HD and 365 on StarSat has finally launched it’s much awaited Urdu poetry programme, Ab-e-Hayaat, hosted by Zora Khan. Zora came onto The Faizal Sayed Show and candidly discussed her life of challenges and rise to fame.
“Ab-e-Hayaat meaning The Elixir of Life, is a poetry platform for women showcasing various Artists who give us a glimpse into their lives and mesmerize us with recitals that are generally in Urdu” Said Zora Khan, the shows presenter. This Language is spoken widely throughout South Africa, as well as in India. Local audiences enjoy the lyrics in these recitals, called “Hamds”, that are dedicated to the Creator.
A focus of the program is dedications to Islam’s the Holy Prophet, Muhammad (P.B.U.H) called “Naats”. Ab-e-Hayaat discovers and explores recitations with local and talented Artists.
Zora Bee Khan is an ex-educator and radio personality who became the first woman in South Africa to professionally record Nasheeds under the guidance of the late Safee Siddiqi. She has 11 albums to date – the sales of which fund all her social welfare upliftment programmes.
